We’ve been on board with the kimono trend from the very beginning. It’s been around for a while now, but we never get tired of it. But after a while we needed a bit of a change. We wanted to let the kimono coat evolve into a kimono dress. Because that’s a bit easier to wear in the next upcoming Fall season, especially underneath a fur coat. The ankle length is without a doubt the nr. one fit for the upcoming season (and spotted a lot on the SS18 NYFW runways too!), but if you’re anxious to end up with a granny effect, just make sure to go with a piece that has little slits on the sides, such as this one by Rixo that I fell instantly in love with.. It will make moving around so much easier, and will let the fluent fabric (another aspect of the kimono that I so adore!) move around freely so that it’s flattering for your body in every way.

If you want to update any look for a new season, just add some accessories in on trend shades, such as a mustard triangle bag (literally goes with everything!), matching sunnies, and a big golden statement ring. Perfect to keep your sunny mood alive too, even on those dreary pre-Fall days. 🙂

Apart from strategic slits, pointy V-shaped slingbacks are a great way to make a maxi piece more sexy. And for those who are all about the details, a little anklet to finish it off never hurt anyone either!
